FAQ


Q: Can I just send you a photo to paint?

A: Absolutely! Just purchase the canvas and choose a frame and upload your photo at checkout.

Q: What is Depicteur Studio? Do i need to purchase it?

         A:  Send us your vision in a written summary and send us some example photos and let us make magic happen.  You will receive an                an email in 3 days to approve our Depicteur Studio and you can tell us any revisions you need.  Once approved we will start                        painting and you will receive your custom oil painting in 3-4 weeks.  If you have a photo that you like and don't need us to do                      anything, you can just purchase the canvas size and frame and we will paint your photo, no need to add Depicteur Studio. 

Q: Will you guys paint anything I send you?

A: We encourage everyone to come to us with their most epic of visions but we highly discourage duplicating other people's work. We respect the creative and intellectual property of all creators. When you submit an image to be painted, you are doing so with the knowledge that the images either belong to you or don't infringe on anyone's intellectual or creative property. 

Q: Where can I find free images and visual assets to add to my painting?

A: Thankfully, there's a lot of wonderful resources out there! Just to name a few, wikimedia, unsplash, pixabay, IMfree, deathtostockphoto and more!

Q: Can I get my family of 35 painted on one canvas?

A: Currently, we limit 2 faces for smaller canvas sizes and 5 faces for larger canvas sizes. We do this not out of laziness but because we find that the details get lost when you try to add too many. If you have a project that requires a lot of faces, please contact us at hello@depicteur.com 

Q: How long will it take for my painting to arrive?

A: Everything normally takes about 3-4 weeks from the time we get your image. This time may vary depending on how busy we get.

Q: Will my painting be an exact copy of the image I provide?

A: Certain colors and graphical shapes don't translate perfectly but everything will be pretty darn close. 

Q: Do you provide any custom sizes beyond what's shown on the site?

A: If you would like something custom, feel free to send us an email at hello@depicteur.com.  Our goal is to get you a painting that you love.

Q: Are there refunds?

A: We offer refunds up to a certain point but not after painting is delivered. During the end of the painting process, we send an update with an image of your nearly finished painting for approval. We do this to ensure satisfaction and transparency so you know exactly what your getting and prevent an unsatisfied refund.

Q: What if my painting arrives damaged?

A: Notify us immediately and we'll have it replaced as soon as possible. 

Q: Is shipping free?

A: Oh yes, free for most people on planet earth.

Q: Do you ship anywhere in the world?

A: Yes, we ship to most places on planet earth and for most people, shipping is still free! Orders delivered to Europe will require an additonal $30 US.
